Welcome

I've been making art for more than 30 years. My dream of being an artist began with my enrollment in the Fine Arts program at UMASS Amherst. I wasn't quite mature enough to focus on academics in my 20’s so I spent a decade or so racing bicycles in the U.S. and Canada. I ended my years of bicycle racing with a cross-country ride to raise money and awareness for the Boston based Brain Tumor Society. 

Somewhat more mature in my 30’s, I went back to school and subsequently began a 27 year career managing teams and services in the software development world. However, I never lost the desire to be a full-time artist. Fast forward to the Pandemic when I was able to move to a part-time position in order to concentrate my energy on making art more central in my life. In 2024 I had the good fortune of becoming a full-time artist, fulfilling a life long dream.

My focus is abstract expressionism, using acrylics, oils, house paint, multiple mark-making tools and techniques to tell a story.  Much of my work develops as a result of the time I spend hiking in the woods. The woods are where I gain focus, figure things out, make plans, and recharge.  

In addition to painting, I am the creator of the popular Lamp series. 

I work in my home studio in Brookline Vermont and my rolling studio when traveling during the winter months.
